The Today tool: greetings and class reminders
Today's classes on your board, a good morning, and a heads-up before each class.
Add Today from the toolbar at the bottom of your board. It shows today's classes from My week, with breaks and lunch, and you can move and resize it like any other tool.
At the top it greets you, following your schedule:
- Before school: "Good morning!" with your first class.
- At recess, lunch and between classes: "Enjoy your break" or "Good afternoon", with the next class.
- After the last class: "Have a nice day!" (and "Have a great weekend!" on Fridays).
- On a day off from your school calendar: "No school today".
In the list:
- A few minutes before a class, it lights up with Starts in 3 min · Open. Click it to open that class screen. Nothing opens by itself, so you stay in control if a lesson runs long.
- The class happening now is a big teal card with a progress bar and the minutes left. Between classes, the next class takes that spot with how long until it starts.
- Click a class to open its class screen. The back arrow there takes you straight back to your board.
- Classes that are over shrink to small grey rows with a ✓, so the rest of your day stays easy to see.
- Each class has a small subject icon (a French flag for French and FSL, a calculator for Math, and so on).
Your name in the greeting: open your Teacher dashboard (your initial, top right of the board → Teacher dashboard) and type it under Board settings, for example "Ms. Rivera". Your students see the board, so a name like this works better than your first name.
If you don't add the Today tool, nothing appears on your board.
