The board clock is an hour off

Alberta and B.C. stopped changing clocks; the board corrects for older computers.

Alberta (now on Alberta Time, UTC−6 all year) and British Columbia (UTC−7 all year) stopped changing their clocks on November 1, 2026. Computers and browsers that haven't been updated still turn the clock back an hour there.

The board fixes this by itself. When your computer is set to Alberta or B.C. time but still has the old rule, the Clock, the Today tool, the class happening now and My week all add the missing hour.

If it's still wrong, set it by hand: open your Teacher dashboard (your initial, top right of the board) → Board settings → Board clock, and choose:

  • Alberta Time (UTC−6, no clock changes)
  • British Columbia (UTC−7, no clock changes)
  • Off to use the computer's time exactly.

The setting shows the board's time right next to it, so you can check it straight away. It follows your account to other computers.

It's still worth updating Windows and Chrome (⋮ → Help → About Google Chrome) so the rest of your computer shows the right time too.
